Spencer Hawkins

Research focus: Improve exfoliation and dispersion of nano particles in polymers to increase mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties.

Personal information: I was born in Youngstown, Ohio in 1989. From there I moved to Batesville, Indiana at the age of 4. When I was 8 I moved to Cypress, Texas and have been there ever since. I obtained a BS in Aerospace Engineering and a Minor in Mathematics at Texas A&M University in May 2011. I worked with Kevin as a undergraduate for the 2010-2011 school year. I was awarded the National Science Foundation Texas A&M University System Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Bridge to the Doctorate Fellowship in August 2011.

Hobbies: I enjoy playing video games, reading, hanging out with my wife and friends, watching movies, and I have a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo which I've been doing for 9 years.
