Ph.D Student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering

Research Interests: My research is focused on the improvement of mechanical, electrical, and thermal performance of epoxy-based composite materials by controlling the structural order of nanometer-scale filler materials. I am interested in developing a better relationship between the behavior of these materials and the actual structure of the nanoparticles within the developing network, particularly with regard to the dimensionality of filler reinforcement and its correlation to scale-dependent properties such as conductivity and elastic reinforcement.

Education: Graduated with dual degree from Texas A&M University (Bachelor of Science, Industrial Engineering, with honors) and Southwestern University (Bachelor of Art, Physical Science) in December 2009.

Personal Information: I was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. I attended Southwestern University for three years, where I was fortunate enough to play baseball and join the Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity, and transferred to Texas A&M in Fall 2007 as part of a dual-degree program with the Department of Physics at SU. I completed my undergraduate degrees in December 2009 and have recently begun working towards a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, I am enjoying the challenge of beginning over in a new field and have felt very welcomed by the diverse and talented members of the group.
